Baseplate Required: The SC520 must be installed on a compatible S800 baseplate (Termination Unit), such as the TB841 or TB842, which provides power and the data bus to all modules.
Power: The baseplate itself is powered by a separate Power Supply Module (e.g., SD822), which converts 24V or 115/230V to the 5V and 24V needed by the modules and field sensors.
Configuration: The I/O channels and their mapping to the Profibus process image are configured in the engineering software (e.g., ABB Automation Builder or older Control Builder M), not on the module itself.
Redundancy: The SC520 is a single module. For a redundant Profibus connection, a different setup with redundant masters and a media redundancy unit would be required.
